DEAD GIRL RISING
HORROR ENTERTAINMENT | LIFESTYLE | ORIGINAL FICTION

Horror is a uniquely useful genre. More than just entertainment, it is a mirror, a therapist, and that one life coach that you know will slap you silly if you give them excuses rather than solutions. Horror asks the tough questions: Who are you when the lights go out? What are you really capable of? What are you willing to fight for? Each real scare is a chance to discover strength where others only see fear.
Part horror media hub, part creative asylum, Dead Girl Rising celebrates all facets of the gloriously macabre and strange in a way that promotes facing your fears.
Here, you'll find a good old-fashioned horror blog from the writer that brought you the popular Malice of Horrorland blog (2004-2014), Life Hacks to help you assume your ultimate form, or if it's just a good scare you're looking for - Adrian will share some original fiction and other personal creative endeavors.

A Word about AI
All works of original fiction and art on this site have been created by myself, Adrian Anna Lee. This does not include material used for commentary and/or educational purposes on the blog. Dead Girl Rising is an authentically human endeavor, but I do believe that the use of AI can enhance my ability to create visual content to accompany my works of original fiction and provide new and entertaining short- and long-form content for public consumption.
Here at Dead Girl Rising, AI is a tool, not a crutch.

Hello. I'm Adrian Anna Lee and I've died and come back. A couple times. More if we're talking spiritually.
Born with a congenital heart defect, my first flatline was at six months old. In 2017, I became a stroke survivor. My congenital heart defect had created the perfect conditions for a blood clot that went straight to my brain. This led to the discovery of several other new health issues like a malformed vascular system and a dysfunctional thyroid.
I was "the quiet one" as a young girl - observant, solitary, rebellious, and though I didn't say much, it hit you like a ton of bricks when I did.
I've never settled in with one crowd or subculture, and for the longest time it did bother me. Like how could people not love me?? But then I remembered that people who see their attention as currency to be earned by others are energy vampires. Fuck that.
Life is a bitch sometimes, but if you dig deep, you might discover that you have one hell of a survivor in you.
As a lifelong horror fan, I've found great release and cope in this amazing genre. Now I've decided to get back online and not only share my knowledge, experience, and expertise, but also begin sharing my own creations.
It's nice to meet you. Now... let's see what you're capable of.
